Market Review and Outlook
Market review notes extreme sensitivity amid unsettled money conditions and calls for cautious speculation. Public engagement in volatile industrials grows, with a warning against bear drives and risky stocks. Banking strength and selective blue chip issues are favored while copper shares show notable fluctuations.

How Julia Fitzsimmons Devised a Publicity Laugh
A petite clever wife named Julia Gifford Fitzsimmons and star boxer Bob Fitzsimmons staged a staged separation and reconciliation to drum up publicity for a new theater venture. The ruse involved a public divorce story from Sioux Falls and a dramatic reunion, aided by President Roosevelt's condolence letter and a tied in Major Miller, creating global spectacle. The pair used the stunt to craft a broader public story about romance, media, and showmanship.

Football in the Balance
The 66 institution conference committee met in New York for a four hour closed session. Dr. Williams of Minnesota declined to speak and it pledged no action on amalgamation. Harvard is pursuing a separate path and a public report is expected by Wednesday. If reforms do not meet Harvard’s ideas, Cambridge football next season could be in doubt.

Harvard Not To Race Penn In B A A Meet
Harvard and Penn will not race at the B A A indoor meet as neither university was invited. Harvard changes its class races uniting the four upper classes in one, with Harvard freshmen meeting Yale freshmen. Harvard and Yale will still enter a four-man two mile relay and individual events, but Crimson sprint chances look weak with Schick and Dodge absent and Hamilton remaining.
