A man named Libbey admitted stealing a gas meter from the Day apartment after being found in the Chelsea area the night before. He said he took the meter hoping it contained coins and confessed to the theft as investigators linked him to the gas death of Mr Day.

Five young men were injured when a doublerunner sled crashed into a telephone pole in Gilbertville. Osia La Parle suffered a concussion and broken jaw, with poor prospects for recovery. Cousins Joseph and Ulrich La Parle broke limbs, Francis Riedy had a head gash, and Joseph Fountain escaped with minor cuts and bruises. Fountain said the sled slid on slick ice from a broken pipe and swerved into the pole.
Morrison H. Peaslee finished his defense in the Merrimac county case charging him with the 1914 murder of his father Howard W. Peaslee. After a five hour cross examination by Attorney General James P. Tuttle Peaslee stood by his account with calm, steady replies and remained unshaken as the proceedings closed for the day.
During the afternoon examination the case centered on Peaslee's relationships with women and Mrs. Ethel Peaglee, his devoted wife who had stood by him throughout the trial, left the courtroom.
