Tragic Courtroom Scene Ends in Acquittal
In General Sessions Court Part 5, Mary Gordon collapsed in the witness chair during her testimony in the Louis Gordon case. She suffered apoplexy and cerebral hemorrhage, was carried from the room, and the jury soon returned a verdict of not guilty for Louis Gordon. Mrs Gordon was hospitalized in serious condition.

Fairfield man suffers life threatening 50 foot fall
A 50 foot fall from the Hotel Gerard in Fairfield Maine left Sewell Maguire unconscious with internal injuries. He was rushed to a Waterville hospital in critical condition, with no bones broken but serious damage reported.
