A blaze yesterday afternoon destroyed Cutter and Parker sash and blind makers shop and nearby wooden structures between Stillman, Charlestown and Cooper streets. Langmaid, Buttum, and McDonnell shops, plus Buttum's stable, suffered major losses. Total damage estimated around fifteen thousand dollars with extensive stock losses at Cutter and Parker. The fire also scorched Leighton’s stone cutter building. insurance varied, some policies reportedly non‑binding.
