Advices from Folly Island report Union guns opened on Charleston Christmas morning lasting until 3 pm. Marblehead and Pawnee engaged rebel batteries in Stone Inlet with 2 killed and 5 wounded on Marblehead, rebels replying without much damage. General Gordon's detachment landed and seized the works. two and one half inch sea coast howitzers were removed by Commander Balch. Rebels suffered 1 killed and 5 wounded.
