Two Southern Women Lead Government Inquiry on Working Women

Washington dispatch details how two Southern women from Georgia and North Carolina conducted a major labor bureau study over two and a half years. They interviewed about 9000 women in 20–25 cities, examined wages and living conditions, faced misconceptions, and aimed to depict individual working women's social and economic status rather than aggregates. The report, limited to large cities and manual labor, will be presented to Congress in weeks, with access through Colonel Wright or congressional members.
