The Boston Post plane is ready for a 9:30 a.m. flight to New York from Whittemore Hamm aviation field in Saugus after a final inspection. The pilot tested the motor and vital parts to prevent any delay in taking to the air.
Evansville Indiana February 27 Former President Taft declined to comment on a Washington dispatch saying he would be invited to speak with President Wilson in New York next Tuesday night He cannot decide until he receives the official invitation.

Washington February 27 Frederick H Gillett of Massachusetts won the Republican nomination for Speaker on the first ballot in the party convention The vote totaled 138 for Gillett 69 for Mann 13 for Campbell with five scattering four for John J Each of Wisconsin and one for Frank W Mondell of Wyoming The nomination was made unanimous and viewed as equivalent to election with Republicans holding the next House majority.
