Herbert Woodbury was ordered held without bail by Judge Smith for the Piscataquis county grand jury on charges of murdering his wife Phebe Maud Henderson Woodbury. The body was found hanging from a door knob at the Exchange Hotel in Foxcroft on February 18 after a disappearance of three months.

William H. McCausland former Boston police inspector died at 7 Murray Avenue Wakefield after a three month illness of heart disease. He retired twelve years ago after losing an arm in a South End battle and later faced a facial injury from a desperado named McCabe. Survived by second wife Miss Lilla Sawyer and two sons Sergeant George F. and Frank W. One son Inspector Lebbeus B. McCausland in Boston police headquarters died recently.
Milford, Feb. 27 Emilio Gilhadi a prosperous butcher says he is marked for assassination by Black Hand agents for ignoring two letters demanding 1000. He and his wife sleep in the cellar and a detective guards the premises. Gilhadi has lived in this country 13 years and has received three letters since July 5 last.
At 5 o'clock this morning a gas explosion occurred in Mine No. 8 of the Cia Carbon de Sabinas mines in Rosita Mexico. About 200 workers were inside and none had escaped by 7:30 am. Rescue doctors boarded a special train to the scene as fears of many deaths or severe burns grow.
