President Wilson invites governors and mayors from about 100 cities to a White House conference on March 3 and 4. The aim is federal state city cooperation to ease unemployment and unrest by addressing vital business and labor questions.
Whiskey and other spirits faced a $3.20 per gallon increase nationwide as the six billion dollar war revenue bill took effect. President Wilson signed the measure Monday night on a special train en route from Boston to Washington.
The Boston Post prints the official government blank for individuals with net income over $5000 for 1918. Returns must be filed with the collector of internal revenue by March 15, with at least partial payment due when filing. Full instructions are in this issue, signed by John F. Malley, U S Internal Revenue Collector.

Malley’s office on Boylston Street soon. Last year filers will receive by mail. others may call at the collector’s office to obtain blanks.

Mrs. Edwards wife of Major General Clarence R Edwards has been in poor health since the death of her daughter last November. She will undergo another operation at Massachusetts General Hospital today after an X ray suggested the need.
The West Point will not land in Boston as scheduled but will dock in Philadelphia. A large troop on board was due to arrive in Boston Thursday morning, announced at the Mayor's reception committee at Liberty Hall.
Paris report says Sean O Cealligh using alias J T O Kelly arrived in Paris over two weeks ago with British passport subterfuge. He claimed to be Dublin Corporation envoy bearing Dublin freedom to President Wilson while carrying credentials as delegate of the provisional Irish government.
Sixteen members of the National Woman's party, dressed in drab prison uniforms, were jailed at Charles Street for eight days after heckling President Wilson. They will sweep parts of the women’s section during their sentence. Of 23 taken in, three paid fines, two were discharged, one case filed, and one continued. Wilma Senderson, 14, was released. her mother Jessica Henderson with the eight day sentence remained. Continued on Page 11 Fifth Col.
The War Department moves to write the American army history of the great war. Secretary Baker issued a bulletin calling discharged officers and others with relevant information to contact the Army War College historical branch.
Ensign Henry Y. Hynson of Baltimore Chief Boatswain's Mate Dederich and Gunner's Mate Fred Reardon died when a depth bomb containing 129 pounds of trinitro toluene exploded in their hands during a test at the Rockaway Beach naval aviation station. Three other sailors escaped. Efforts to remove a cap from one bomb triggered the blast. Hynson leaves a wife and two children. Addresses for Dederich and Reardon were not learned.
