Braves Plan Boston Park Start Under Build Now Plan
Boston owner James F. Gaffney announced the Boston Braves will begin construction of a new National League ballpark in Allston near the State Armory around March 10. The $650000 project promises employment for about 1000 men and immediate cost savings, supported by Mayor Curley’s backing and the Post’s Build Now campaign. Cement and steel prices have fallen, boosting the projected savings on reinforced concrete work. Tenants on the site must vacate within three weeks to clear the way.
