Amalgamated rose on news of Senator Clark's Butte mines, Monon gained on Southern control talk, and Dominion Iron and Steel moved in active trading. Copper stocks led early gains with Baltic and Copper Range rising, while Dominion Coal fluctuated and Trimountain rallied later. The money market remained quiet with muted time and call loans and overall flat interest conditions.
