The first Lent Sunday saw variable attendance due to rain while churches held compelling programs. Rev James Freeman Clarke debated prayer types at CHURCH OF THE DISCIPLES and pantheism versus divine proximity, and Rev Octavius B Frothingham spoke on Suppression of Vice at Music Hall amid the temperance crusade.
