Admiral Prince Henry visit sparks World War debate
The weekly reviews treat the coming visit of Admiral Prince Henry of Prussia to New York as a new chapter in the Spanish American War dispute. The Saturday Review claims Germany’s disclosures darken McKinley’s memory and accuse him of delaying peace to provoke war. The Spectator counters German press distortions and praises Anglo-American unity against Germany. The Outlook lauds Bay’s note to Russia while noting England’s stance. The Saturday Review persists in anti American rhetoric, calling the dispute an international slanging match.
