Knights of Malta Entertain National Lancers League

The National Lancers held a grand military levee at Bulfinch Street in a hall lavishly decorated with bunting national colors and canaries singing in the background. Guests in uniform and many officers attended the 9:20 grand march led by Captain Neal and Mrs Turner, with a large list of notable attendees and a later intermission for lunch before dancing resumed to a late hour.

Yewell Dew Club Prize Dance At Hovey Hall

About 200 couples attended the Yewell Dew Club prize dance at Hovey Hall in Waltham on February 21. The club draws members from the champion National baseball club and notable young politicians, making Hovey Hall a rare gathering of baseball tossers of both old and new schools.

Weston Watch Thief Posing as Detective Arrested

George Weston of 8 Derne Street was relieved of a $190 hunting case watch by a man claiming to be private detective Harry Hamblin Anderson. The con man gained Weston’s trust, followed him home, and stole a diamond worth $406, a watch chain, and two bank books after convincing Weston to leave jewelry at home. Anderson, who claimed origins in St. Albans Vermont, was jailed by Division 3 officers.

Miller Not Allowed to Testify in Bankruptcy Habeas Hearing

William F. Miller of Franklin syndicate fame appeared before referee Augustus J. Koehler in New York on a writ of habeas corpus issued by Judge Thomas. Creditors objected to his testimony claiming ten days notice was required, so the examination was adjourned until February 21.

Funeral of Rev Michael Gilligan in Medford

The funeral for Rev Michael Gilligan late pastor of St Joseph's Church Medford will be held at St Joseph's Church tomorrow. The service begins at 10 oclock with the office of the dead sung by more than 200 priests led by Archbishop Williams along with Bishop Brady and Vicar General Byrne.

Armenian Play in Washington for Armenian Prisoner Relief

An Armenian play by native Armenian actors will be staged Thursday evening at the Young Men's Christian Union building 48 Boylston street.
