Mary Whalen Arrives With 90,000 Cod On Maiden Voyage

The fishing schooner Mary Whalen anchored off the wharf after 2 PM on her maiden trip, returning from the grounds with about 90,000 cod. Owned by Sylvester Whalen of Boston and captained by Bartholomew Whalen, the Essex built vessel weighs about 128 tons and carries a crew of twelve.
