Haverhill Mass February 18 Minor A Skinner a noted trainer and driver was thrown from a team this afternoon and severely if not fatally injured He is in a very critical condition.

John B. Gough died at 4 40 pm at the residence of Dr. R Bruce Burns in Frankford after a paralysis strike during a temperance lecture at the Frankford Presbyterian Church. His wife was present at his death. The body will be embalmed and taken to Worcester Massachusetts tomorrow evening after services at the house.
Worcester Mass February 18 The death of John B Gough at Philadelphia is mourned at his Hillside home where he welcomed visitors and aided those in need. He gave generously since his lecture earnings grew and quietly supported many without public notice.
New York report states John Rieckaby, longtime manager of the Lyceum Theatre and a prominent figure in U S stage circles, died this morning at 12:20 oclock after a long career shaping American theatre.
John Rickaby aged about 44, famed as a leading American theatrical manager, shaped careers of stars like Gus Williams and George Knight. He directed Mesas Brooks & Dickson at Standard Theatre and elevated Lyceum Kestre to prominence. He died of cerebrospinal meningitis. funeral tomorrow at Little Church Around the Corner, with interment in Quebec.
Word from Montreal states the privy council has rendered a decision in the cases brought by the Dominion and Quebec governments against the liquidators of the Excheque Bank. The Dominion government sued.

Davis fled after telling people about the crime, leaving no stated motive. Both men were young. Davis is married and reportedly close to Reams’s sister.

Professor John Nichol LL D5 of the University of Glasgow was arrested in Naples for carrying a sword stick without a license. The penalty is three months imprisonment. The British consul intervened and Nichol was sent to Rome. Lord Rosebery urged commuting the sentence to a small fine because of Nichol's reputation.
Hartford reports a large parliamentary fund meeting chaired by Mayor Bulkeley to aid Ireland. Notables spoke or sent letters. a ball collection raised $82468 with subscriptions and small admission fees bringing total to about $1265. Riggin left Norfolk Jan 8 with lumber for New York. He previously loaded Kainite in New York. a Jan 26 postal card notes readiness to sail. Riggin, a Snow Hill Maryland native, had not been heard from since Feb 1.
Springfield Mass Feb 16 George M M Stearns has chosen ex Senator Owen A Galvin of Boston and James Russell Reed of Lexington as assistants in the United States district attorney's office at Boston. They will be appointed by Judge Sanger as Stearns cannot assume the office for several weeks due to his practice.
