Senate Acts On Patents And Food Adulteration Measures
A senate resolution directs the judiciary committee to study ways to protect innocent patent buyers from fraud and report by bill or other means. The house ways and means committee will hold a Saturday hearing on the sugar question with a Treasury secretary invitation. The president approved amendments to statutes and redrew a Maine custom district. The epidemic diseases committee favors a bill to appoint three experts to study food adulteration. State Senator Foster’s nomination for district attorney in the southern district of New York has been withdrawn, with Elliott F. Shepperd expected to be nominated.
