Berkshire Pleasure Park Company Incorporation Rejected

In the Senate the bill to incorporate the Berkshire Pleasure Park Company was rejected. Leave to withdraw was reported on Milford town petition for reimbursement of recruiting expenses. In the House bills were reported limiting proxy validity to six months and to incorporate the Wellfleet Marine Insurance Company. A measure to authorize towns to tax for recruiting was rejected. Memorials from Hon. B. R. Curtis and others of Boston supported East Tennessee relief appropriation.

Radical Reconstruction Clash Over Arkansas Seat

Boutwell and Davis challenge seating Mr Johnson from Arkansas, opposing admission of a rebel state under a new constitution. They argue no state can return while under military occupation, clashing with the President’s Proclamation and Sumner-Stevens theories of Union. Arnold’s Resolution Aims to Abolish Slavery Nationwide
