Tilton's Redirect Exam Resumes in Turbulent Trial
In a lengthy session the witness details his motive for publishing a statement to counter public accusations of drunkenness and brutality. He recites discussions with Dr Storrs and Beecher critics, explains the Woodhull affair, and describes a sworn paper about alleged criminal intimacy between Henry Ward Beecher and Mrs Tilton. The judge rules on admissibility as arguments continue.
