In East Cambridge Probate Court this morning Benjamin Hadley estate fight gathers several dozen subpoenaed witnesses heirs and attorneys. Hints of arrests and criminal prosecutions swirl around the sprawling web of wills and codicils as testimony is anticipated from those summoned.
The case centers on Mrs Elizabeth Moore Buckley of Holt Wiltshire and American relatives clawing for Benjamin Hadleys estate. Two wills contest the will naming Buckley as residuary legatee with a 150000 cash legacy and 5000 each to family, while Farrell and Hinckley represent the Hadley heirs including Walter Hadley who would gain the bulk of the estate.
The Hotel Clarendon at Sea Breeze near Daytona, a large resort hotel, and 10 adjoining cottages were destroyed by fire early today. All 215 guests sleeping inside were saved unharmed, though one hotel clerk was bitten by a panicked guest. The wooden hotel, valued at 200000 dollars, was insured for about forty percent.
A February Lake Michigan weather disturbance paralyzes telegraph and telephone lines between Chicago and distant regions. Heavy snow and sleet blanket streets and hamper transportation as wind speeds worsen conditions.

Forecasts show rain or snow for Boston area on Monday with a shift to fair, colder conditions tonight. New England forecast notes rain or snow in the south and snow in the north on Monday and Tuesday with much colder temperatures and brisk to high winds.
Storm warnings posted along the Atlantic seaboard from Boston to New York. Steamers bound for European ports face rain or snow with east to south winds turning to west and northwest by Tuesday and rising to Grand Banks conditions.

One bird alone valued over 206 dollars and deemed one of the finest homing pigeons. Total value estimated at 450 dollars. Police from Station 18 assigned several men to the case. second robbery in a year for Wagner.

Rocco Pajancotta of 434 Commercial Street returned home after being acquitted eight months ago when three of his children were found burning and the house ablaze. He rescued two children with his bare hands but a 5-year-old girl died from the flames after an explosion from a kerosene lamp. Pajancotta burned his hands nearly to the bone in the attempt.
After being acquitted of Frances co Mentello’s murder, Pajancotta returned home and learned of a job. A lamp flame caused a fire that burned his four children’s clothing. five year old Mariano was severely burned and died at Relief Hospital. The father concealed injuries to avoid delays for authorities.
Congressman Daniel L. D. Granger of Providence Rhode Island died in Washington at 7 15 PM from heart failure. He was 57 and had served Rhode Island’s first district in the 58th 59th and 60th Congresses since 1903. He had been ill since November after a trip to Albany and London prior health issues included rheumatism and heart valve disease. He never married. He held local offices including Providence city treasurer and mayor before entering Congress.
