Flee From Burning Hotel At Sea Breeze

The Hotel Clarendon at Sea Breeze near Daytona, a large resort hotel, and 10 adjoining cottages were destroyed by fire early today. All 215 guests sleeping inside were saved unharmed, though one hotel clerk was bitten by a panicked guest. The wooden hotel, valued at 200000 dollars, was insured for about forty percent.

Niagara Falls shows a solid ice mass on the American side as a northeast wind slows the current. A wall of ice stretches from Goat Island to the mainland, extending beyond the third Sister Island and reducing the horseshoe flow. Rocco Pajancotta of 434 Commercial Street returned home after being acquitted eight months ago when three of his children were found burning and the house ablaze. Congressman Daniel L. D. Granger of Providence Rhode Island died in Washington at 7 15 PM from heart failure. He was 57 and had served Rhode Island’s first district in the 58th 59th and 60th Congresses since 1903. He had been ill since November after a trip to Albany and London prior health issues included rheumatism and heart valve disease. He never married. He held local offices including Providence city treasurer and mayor before entering Congress.
