River Flood in Arkansas Area Elevates Levees and Rail Lines
The Gazette reports Helena area rivers rising about half an inch with the St Francis swelling along its length. Levee breaks at Walnut Halls and Delia Miss threaten property while boats are sought from Memphis to move cattle and horses. Rail line trestles go under water and trains switch to skiffs as crews guard levees and await flood relief. Additional notes describe Hudson and Susquehanna rises with ice breakup and heavy flood levels in New York and Pennsylvania rivers.
