A fire likely caused by faulty wiring destroyed the wooden annex of the Suffolk School for Boys on Rainsford Island in Boston Harbor. Five boys were trapped but rescued by responders and no serious injuries were reported.
Boston patrolman Charles E. Deininger was killed in Chelsea when auto thieves opened fire as they tried to flee. Officers pursued the band, exchanging many shots, while Deininger lay hidden in a garage awaiting rescue and identification of suspects remained unclear.
The League of Nations commission rejects the world army plan after adopting a complete draft of 26 articles. Officials say the draft outlines a framework for collective security and disarmament, but nations remain divided on enforcement and funding.

Dr Carl Muck former conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Dr Ernest Kunwald former conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra now interned at Fort Oglethorpe will be deported. Lieutenant Roysalmat tice of General Pershing's staff announced this in Cincinnati during a Rotary Club address, saying the quarrel at Fort Oglethorpe yielded valuable information for the government.
