Railroad Board Notes Few Petitions Amid Steam Whistle Complaint

The Commissioners report an unusually small number of petitions against railroads this year, with only one drawing general interest—the steam whistle complaint. They find the state railroad system satisfactory, foresee Granger-era abuses fading, and discuss freight costs and tariff efforts without firm recommendations. Signed by Adams Jr, Briggs, and Johnson.
