Trustees Outline Six Month Plan To Absorb Deficit

Trustees propose absorbing the six month deficit ended June 1921 to avoid a carryover. They expect first half receipts to exceed service costs, offsetting part of the $485,348.46 back pay for May and June 1919. Revenue passengers totaled 385,526,561. receipts per passenger were 16.148 cents, cost per passenger 10.246 cents, a 103 cent excess cost. Labor cost accounts for 5.131 cents more than half the fare. Net figures show direct operation receipts plus deposits and securities income at $34,081,851.84, costs at $24,378,803.68, yielding a net loss of $346,951.84.
