Boston churches report thousands of pounds of food and warm supplies arriving at depots for a Day of Rejoicing. Volunteers coordinate coal flour bread canned goods and clothing to reach families in need amid a citywide revival effort led by church and charitable groups.
Washington bankers hesitate to close tomorrow awaiting presidential approval of a Congressional resolution. Across the nation Lincoln birthday commemorations proceed with ceremonies in Boston Sym phony Hall and public schools, New York halls and Cooper Union, and memorials in London.

The divorce suit cites intoxication as the ground for the breakdown of marriage. Elsie Manney of Quincy, daughter of Rear Admiral Henry M Manney, retired, was dubbed the hello of the navy after meeting Lieutenant Abele aboard her father's ship.
Dr. Morgan J. Woodruff was killed and ten others injured when a Pittsfield Electric Street car derailed on a Bel Air curve while en route from Pontoosuc Lake to West Pittsfield. The octagonal double truck car struck a pole and plowed through ice, throwing Woodruff under the rear fender.
President Roosevelt made a brief nighttime stop in Pittsburgh on the way to Lincoln centennial events in Kentucky. He praised the crowd and noted wives as “better fellows” while acknowledging thanks for the reception. He planned to reach Louisville by 9:20 a.m. and Hodgenville near noon, traveling with Mrs. Roosevelt and several officials.
