Speakers Daniel Sickles Joseph Wheeler and Charles Howard led the Lincoln birthday program in Tremont Temple Boston. Mrs Julia War Howe read a poem she penned on April 15 1865 and General Wheeler spoke on The American Soldier. Howard urged unity and marked the broader national domain in line with Lincoln ideals.
Lincoln's Birthday will be celebrated today at the Perkins Institution for the Blind in South Boston. The Blaisdell legacy funds go into effect for the first time with each child receiving a dollar to spend on the day.
