Fire destroys Worcester biscuit plant on Main Street

A morning blaze in Worcester gutted the Gilman biscuit company building on Main Street. Charles Hubbell, local manager, reported total stock loss and about 83,000 dollars in damages to the building with the stock also ruined. Investigators suspect the fire started from the oven. The plant belonged to a branch of thetrust in Chicago.

Men Arrested in Fowl Theft Case in Quincy

Officer David J. Barry arrested Cornelius Galvin and Thomas Thompson in Quincy early today after finding eight dead fowl in their possession. Thompson led inspectors to Rufus A. Thayer in Randolph, admitting the birds were stolen. They face District Court arraignment tomorrow.
