Great Improvements During the Year in Streets and Sewers

Dorchester district Boston Ward 24 and part of Ward 20 saw major upgrades in 1635 with granite paving on Dorchester avenue from Glover's Corner to Fields Corner and macadamized streets. A key project is an intercepting sewer at Glover’s Corner diverting Dorchester bay sewage to Mt. Vernon Street for the Noon Island system, reducing a long standing odor and health risk to residents.
