Two men arrested in lumber theft ring in East Cambridge

Peter McKenna and Alexander Barry, both 29, were charged with theft of two truckloads of pine lumber valued at 130 dollars from the Boston and Lowell railroad freight yard since January 27. An improvised lumber yard in Chester place was found where thieves dumped and sold lumber in small lots, with other parties involved in similar stealing. The method used to obtain the lumber from the yard remains unclear.

Drunken mob seizes coal train injuring crew near Milledgeville

Eighteen intoxicated men boarded a Toledo Cincinnati and St. Louis coal train at Milledgeville Ohio on Saturday. They forced conductor Thomas Curtin from the locomotive and assaulted Brakeman T S Collins, who died from injuries. The engineer tried to detach the engine and flee to Milledgeville to save lives. No arrests have been made.

Bradlaugh Expelled After Self Administered Oath in Commons

London February 11 Henry Labouchere and Thomas Burt accompanied Charles Bradlaugh to the House of Commons table where he administered the oath to himself and placed a signed paper on the table before bowing to the speaker. The speaker ordered withdrawal for nonconformity with rules. Sir Stafford Northcote's motion to bar the oath passed 280 to 167, with Gladstone maintaining his prior stance. Labouchere opposed Northcote's motion as the debate continued.

One bundle of clothing addressed to the University of Georgia remains at the state detectives office along with an unidentified chest and two trunks from the City of Columbus wreck. A chest of carpenter tools was identified by Mrs. Brown as hers and her husband, a passenger, now in the city hospital with injuries to his right foot from the accident.
