Attractions for children expand as Polly Sumner, a doll named after Gen Sumner's relative Mrs John Williams of Roxbury and carved from an old oak, becomes a new household favorite. Concerts and Theatre Notes in Boston’s Music Hall

A dense listing of February events includes Theodore Thomas’s five concert series ending Feb 28, with an orchestral program and soloists.
