Mayor Schmitz and the San Francisco School Board met twice on February 10 to decide their stance for tomorrow's White House talks with President Roosevelt and Secretary Root on Japanese pupils. They declined to disclose positions, but expect to resist President Hoover's proposed concessions. Over 300 telegrams urged firm exclusion of Japanese workers before any school admissions compromise, while representatives of Japan warned against linking school questions to coolie issues.

A powerful blast at 3:30 AM destroyed the Woolwich arsenal chemical research department. All town windows were shattered but no lives are believed lost.

New York February 10 The Thaw trial resumes with a heated clash as the defense calls F C Perkins of Pittsburg who drafted Harry Thaw’s will. Delmas and co counsel plan to introduce the will while Jerome attempts to exclude it.
Captain Ricketts in New York announced that tomorrow no women would be allowed in the courtroom except those summoned as witnesses. An extra detail of court officers would enforce the rule during the testimony.
