Alleged Incendiary Fire At 5 Harrison Avenue

Police and Ladder 15 say an arson attempt occurred late last night at the five story brick building 5 Harrison Avenue. The Oxford telephone exchange chief operator spotted a bright light on the third floor at 10 15 PM and alerted the ladder crew. Firefighters found the rubbish pile with the blaze out by itself, and the fire marshal's office will investigate today as evidence suggests it was set.

Colorado in Tow After Boiler Trouble Off Fayal

Despatch from Captain Whitton reports the Pavonia disabled on February 5 at 41 44 in the Atlantic. Boilers faulty, towing attempt failed when the hawser parted, and the two ships lost sight of each other in a hurricane. The Pavonia sails with 47 passengers and about 112 officers and crew aboard.

Colorado reports rescuing Pavonia in Atlantic gale

The British steamer Pavonia, en route from Liverpool to Boston, suffered boiler trouble and began drifting in a hurricane off the Azores. The Colorado intercepted the disabled vessel, offered a tow, but the hawser parted in the storm. Captain Atkin is expected to bring Pavonia into port.
