A mass Yale meeting in New Haven on February 8 voted unanimously to hold secret ballots Friday and Saturday to decide whether the acts and agreement of athletic captains and managers shall be ratified to Jan. 1, 1894 and whether a drafted constitution for four athletic groups should be proposed to the university for ratification. A Wider Breach The Rhodes Firm and Garment Workers Settle
The United Garment Workers of America and Rhodes Ripley & Co have reached a settlement ending a long labor dispute. The firm will hire union workers and place the union label on all goods, ending the boycott and signaling a major victory for the union while raising potential tensions with other labor groups. Walter Chuck H. J. Felz led local efforts to publicize the boycott, and Charles Reichers of the national union secured the agreement. The outcome is seen as a significant union achievement with possible fallout for nonunion cutters employed by the firm.
