Mary E. Sullivan aged 35 claims to be a stranger in Boston and tells police she is ill. An ambulance takes her to McLean Street lying in hospital where officers discover an additional passenger a newborn child. The mother and baby are admitted at Bowdoin Square after the ride to the hospital.

Work of Sneak Thieves-Wanted for False Pretences

Inspectors McCausland and Leggett recovered a $150 gold watch stolen with other jewelry from a Montreal residence. Thieves night Thursday stole coats from Richard E Walker and E Boswick. Kate Barry, 33, was hospitalized with injuries from her husband. Ames O’Brien was arrested for breaking and entering a tool house and larceny of coats. William Howard charged with larceny of an empty valise. Samuel Craig, wanted for obtaining goods by false pretences, previously guarded by Gloucester arrest. He mapped thefts to Boston theatre suppliers and stored items at James Robertson’s. A warning letter led to his identification by Inspector Gerraughty.

Billiards and Walking Contests Reported in Local Matches

Friday events at Marshall's featured three billiards games from the regular tourna ment with Eames and Gilman beating Morse and Baker 200 to 115. Yatter and Smith defeated Marshall and Tay 150 to 96 with runs of 21 by Yatter. Allen beat Yatter 20 to 9 in a bank shot game, highest runs were four and two respectively. A 20 mile walk at Revere hall ended without finish after Gilmore retired, Oddy declared winner. In Hartford, Springfield’s Shean beat Pletcher 300 to 283 in the tenth billiard match, Pletcher posting a 40 for the tournament high.

Funeral Services for Willian Bing ham at Tremont House

The late Willian Bing ham was honored at a noon funeral in Tremont House attended by leading hotel men, Suffolk club officers, and long-time acquaintances. Floral tributes adorned the service as Rev. E. N. Packard led prayers. Pallbearers included Samuel Hatch, Henry Tolman, A. W. Spencer, George D. Allen, Silas Gurney, and William P. Comee, with the casket placed in Forest Hills receiving tomb.

Pleasant Gatherings Include Independent Fusileers Ball

The ninety seventh annual ball of the Independent Boston Fusileers at Boylston hall drew a large crowd from major military groups. Highlights included a 25-step dance, a promenade concert by Mason's orchestra, and a reception committee led by Lt. Sears. A second event, the Old Colony Beneficial Association ball at Odd Fellows hall, drew 350 couples with funds totaling 4500 dollars and an extra 500 raised from supper.
