Rescue completes after Lamington wreck near Patchogue

Patchogue New York February 7 All twenty three men aboard the Lamington have been rescued with the last man brought ashore at 9 3 this forenoon. The steamer was a total loss after being stranded on Great South Beach during the storm. Rescue work involved Lone Hill life savers and local villagers who stood by as waves battered the vessel. The crew included nineteen from Merritt Wrecking Company and four from the ship’s crew.

Emerson School of Oratory stages Richelieu matinee at Museum

Pupils presented Richelieu at the Museum to aid the College Library Fund. Henry L Southwick excelled as Cardinal Richelieu, with Jessie Eldridge Southwick as Julie De Mortemar and Walter B Tripp as De Mauprat. Division 24 Roxbury Meeting Forms Knights and Plans Hall Event

Division 24 Roxbury held a rousing Armory Hall meeting chaired by President John O Leary. Two candidates were initiated and nine applications received. Burglars Blow Safe at Metropolitan Insurance Office

Thieves blew open the Metropolitan Insurance Company office in Newton with powder this morning and wrecked the safe. About $1700 in cash and checks were stolen. The burglars were seen escaping through a rear window.
