A 13 year old student Leo Fleischer was thrown from his sled and fatally injured while coasting down Walnut Avenue Revere yesterday afternoon. The runaway sled struck a double runner and smashed, sending the boy several feet into the air before he died of his injuries.
The oldest of five, a 14 year old boy from 184 Hichborn Street Revere died after a truck accident. Police say the eighth grader’s death was unavoidable and the drivers hauling a double runner are cleared of blame. He was taken to Dr. J Stewart Morris and then Frost Hospital in Chelsea where he died at five o clock. His mother rushed to the scene and held him in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Miss Bertha Smith a stenographer at the Essex Kid Company foiled a planned robbery by two men. William Murray 19 of Roxbury and Harry Warren 20 of Malden are held on charges of attempted larceny after the incident in Lynn on February 6. Miss Smith lies recovering at her home, 374 Western Avenue, from the ordeal.
Two young men entered a factory around 4 PM and asked for work. Murray distracted Miss Smith while Warren tried to force open the cash box in the safe. Miss Smith cried for help, Frederick W. Smith and George Fleckman among others restrained them as Warren fled.
Adelard St George 19 attempts to rob conductor Waldo Cook aboard an electric car in Woonsocket. He fires three shots, is overpowered, and arrested by Deputy Sheriff Henry Harper. He allegedly confessed to robbing his father days earlier to buy the revolver and flee town.
The 100th anniversary of Charles Dickens will be celebrated in this city with a larger observance than before. British born or linked associates join Greater Boston residents to honor the English novelist, reflecting the saying that blood is thicker than water.
Mrs Louise Erwin aged 50 of the South End and Mrs Ella Jennings 54 of 29 Burleigh street Cambridge were fatally burned when an overturned lamp spilled oil during a festive gathering shortly after 8 the flames engulfed the interior of Mrs Jennings home The Erwin son and daughter escaped serious injury in the Cambridge incident
Firefighters smothered flames that enveloped Mrs. Jennings and Mrs. Erwin as a lamp toppled during a Jennings house gathering. They were removed to Cambridge Relief Hospital in critical condition with areas of skin burn and were reported on the dangerous list.

Six men were seriously injured in a gas explosion at 6 15 tonight in the General Electric foundry in Pittsfield causing about 30000 in damage. Gas formed from metal escaping a leaky cupola collected in the blow room and ignited. The airtight room blew a 20 foot hole in the concrete floor. Edwin Lambert is missing and feared buried. laborers dig for the body tonight.
Lawrence leaders of the big mill strike met in secret to plan a general strike in textile centers of New England. They fixed the date for the first action and chose a surprise site, not among previously discussed locations, as the initial scene of uprising.
