The Boston Board of Aldermen ruled Maguire is entitled to his seat after a contested election in Ward 18. Johnny Griffin of Brain tree defeated Billy Murphy of Australia for featherweight honors at Coney Island Athletic Club. The Sawin house in east Lincoln was destroyed by a blaze around 10 last night. John B. Sawin, 60, tried to save the upper part but died from heat and smoke. Roslindale residents form a vigilance committee to find a cruel unknown who has poisoned dogs and now cats. A fifty dollar reward is offered for information leading to the arrest. over two weeks twenty five dogs and at least three cats have died in various neighborhoods.
Roma Feb 6 The Bank Association of Florence has failed with liabilities of 2 000 000 lire. Officials fear fraud as the manager and cashier have been arrested amid the bankruptcy proceedings.
