The Board of Aldermen orders a hearing Friday afternoon on alleged circulation by the fire chief and district officers of petitions seeking repeal of the 1905 hours of labor ordinance. The investigating committee may summon witnesses produce records and hire a stenographer charged to the contingent fund.
The Cadets stage Mis Pocahontas a 1906 production by Barnet Baker with Sullivan on score and a large audience noted as the last such entertainment for years. The revue features fragmentary plot, vaudeville style numbers, and elaborate scenery, with Powhatan, Pocahontas, and John Smith characters amid songs and dances culminating in a civlization ticket prize and a final scene in New York.
Foster Hooper vice-president of Hanover Bank arrested on a New Jersey bench warrant for using the mails to defraud in conspiracy with John J. White and others. White Ruxton and Colt arraigned in New York on indictments accusing them of schemes to guarantee and sell bonds for railroad and other companies. Susie S Trainor age 12 living at 914 Chelsea Street East Boston was attacked near her home around 6 PM. A 16 inch braid of her brown hair was cut from her head by the assailant known as Jack the Slasher.
In Saugus on February 5, residents report a hair slasher, likely the same assailant from Boston. Ira B. Cheney's daughter Theoda Cheney, 12, was attacked losing her long braid, sending women into fear and many staying indoors unless guarded by men.
Thomas W. Donavan of Dorchester reports being struck from behind in a South Boston stable at 7 Alger Street, robbed of $80 while unconscious. He described a man lurking earlier, saw a club, and woke on the barn floor with a lump on the head. Police sent out inquiries but found no clues by early morning.
Boston hosts two major charity shows last night. The Cadets staged Miss Pocahontas at the Tremont Theatre and the Knights of Columbus presented Isle of Dreams at the Majestic. Both productions were local works to raise building funds, drawing liberal patronage and strong social support.
Nicholas Donnario, 39, of 1 Kaster Place, North End, was stabbed four times by fellow guests after a card game at his home yesterday. He walked to Station at 4 PM and asked for his wounds dressed. Surgeons at Relief Hospital found stab wounds to the left palm, back, left thigh and left side, none serious. Donnario refused to name his assailants, saying they would attend to them himself.
In New York on February 5, John Tt. White president of the Imperial Trustees Company of Jersey City and brokers Robert G. Ruxton and Clyde Colt were arrested by U S Marshals on indictments charging use of the mails to defraud. They pleaded not guilty and bail was set at 7500 for White and 2500 for Colt and Ruxton.

He describes selling bonds for the Scranton Factoryville Yankhannock Railroad on a commission, details the halted sale after discovering franchise expiry, and notes the dispute between Imperial Trustees Company and the railroad over funds paid for guaranteeing securities. He asserts the bank only does straight banking and denies operating a current investment department.
