In Topeka Kansas Mrs Nation led a group of six women armed with hatchets to strike a restaurant serving liquor. Police arrested her for disturbing the peace after a wild battle with restaurant staff. A raid on a drug store and a joint was promised for tomorrow as crowds followed in the snow.
A blaze at the Old Chandler building No 15 State street in Boston early today endangered Mrs. W S Goldthwaite and her 12 year old son on the top floor. Firemen led by Captain OConnor and Firemen Kenneally and Driscoll of Engine 7 rescued them after long peril. Both survived and were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital as the fire spread to No 25 State street and damaged adjacent structures. Loss estimated around 59000 with damage to upper three floors and water damage to nearby buildings.
