Paris February 3 The Boston Post reports that while no formal policy statement has been issued Washington is believed to be moving toward a trustee role for the United States in international affairs. Officials indicate the policy will be clarified after the forthcoming address to Congress.
A fire in the wine cellar of Crawford House Scollay Square caused $35 000 damage and forced more than forty guests and staff to flee into the street. Arthur J Curran 32 a gas company employee was overcome while searching for leaks in the basement at 17 Brattle Street and died before arriving at Haymarket Square Relief Station.
President Wilson spoke at the Chamber of Deputies in Paris with President Poincare and leaders of both houses as auditors. The delegation, including Premier Clemenceau and Senate Speaker Dubost, accompanied Wilson to the Palais Bourbon arriving at 5 o'clock for the formal reception and address.
