Further consideration of the constitutional bill in Paris Assembly
The Assembly continued debate on the constitutional bill, voting to grant ministers responsibility while keeping the president accountable only for high treason. Amendments from the Committee of Thirty on revising the constitution were adopted, with a plan for Congress to decide on revisions and a strong-utility provision allowing temporary executive actions during the president’s term. The chamber set a third reading vote for tomorrow. A Senate organization bill will have a second reading on the sixth.
