Safes Blown At Kelliher Beckwith Office

A burglary at the Kelliher & Beckwith offices at 771 Washington Street saw three safes blown open between 2 PM and 10 30 PM. Police say it marks a resurgence after a recent arrest of August Kaufman and only about $25 in jewelry was recovered. Continued on Page 4-Eighth Cof.

Photographer Henry Ryder Arrested in Nude Pictures Case

Auburndale photographer Henry Ryder aged 45 was arrested at 36 Islington Street on obscene pictures charges tied to a $10,000 suit brought by William Graham. Police found several nude poses and evidence of intent to distribute. Ryder posted bonds of $0 from his mother.

Cat saves five and loses life in Dexter fire

A coon cat woke Amos Morgridge in a Dexer Maine blaze that destroyed the grocery and home of Frank N. Morgridge. Five family members were saved but the cat died from smoke suffocation. The loss is put at about $10,000.

Daring Double Rescue As Iceboat Capsizes On Lake

Frank H. Gerlach and J Dwight Cabot, Winchester men, escaped drowning when Gerlach's iceboat Pretzel sank in Upper Mystic Lake. Cabot was saved after about 20 minutes in the water, and Gerlach after about 25 minutes. He used an upturned ice belt for support and shed his heavy fur coat to rise.

East Boston waiter fatally shoots himself after farewell to sons

Walter Lee 37, a waiter at the Adams House, fired three warning shots from a third story window at 93 Neptune Road before shooting himself in the temple. His 14 year old Edwin rushed home, witnessed his father alive, then found him dead. The six year old Frank witnessed the events and was told not to fear.
