Calais Maine December 30 Hope is abandoned for the safety of the Abner Taylor from New York bound for this port with oil and the A Hooper from Boston for this port. A wreck believed to be the Hooper has been reported suggesting a collision during the fortnight ago blizzard. The first sign of possible disaster arrived December 18 when life savers at Cahoon Hollow Cape Cod reported finding a ship boat bearing the name Taylor on the stern. The boat was badly damaged and found by the night patrol on December 18.
