Umpire selections for 1886 were announced, and arbitration and schedule committees were re-elected.

John Morrissey Dies. longtime Massachusetts official
John Morrissey aged 61, for years sergeant-at-arms of the Massachusetts Legislature and since 1877 county treasurer at Plymouth, died suddenly at Plympton on Sunday. Born in Boston September 2, 1816, he began as a journalist in Nantucket and served in the Legislature and Senate before settling in Plymouth. He led a lengthy tenure through the Civil War era and later served as treasurer of Plymouth County until his death. Funeral at Plymouth on Wednesday.
