Freeness for Faneuil Hall Target of City Hearing

The Committee on Faneuil Hall held a Friday evening hearing on a petition by EK M Chamberlin and others asking that Faneuil Hall be free for political meetings. About twenty five to thirty gentlemen attended and spoke, with Chamberlin defending petition genuineness and arguing for free public assembly as essential as schools or libraries. Wendell Phillips backs the request in a letter urging the city to allow unfunded use for normal civic purposes under proper rules.
