TWO MAY DIE In Train Collision Near Pepper's Distillery

A 2 PM wreck near Pepper's distillery in Lexington involved a Louisville & Nashville yard engine and Chesapeake & Ohio engine No. 9. Nine men were badly injured, two fatally, as both engines were demolished and debris stretched 300 feet. Yard workers bore the worst injuries while Chesapeake & Ohio crew escaped serious harm.

Fire destroys vacant East Boston home on Farmington Street

An $800 blaze in East Boston gutted a vacant Farmington Street house near the Revere line. Firemen reported the fire at 8 07 last night from Box 677. The owner is Willia Willa. Loss estimated at $900 with cause unknown.

Unknown Youth Commits Double Suicide and Shooting Incident

A young man found dead in a Dorchester cow pasture near Crescent Avenue station appears to have killed himself after firing at bystanders at Savin Hill station days earlier. Police found a revolver, hat damage, and a clothing receipt linking to McManus & Co. Witnesses reported a dramatic scene under a railroad bridge before the death. The body awaits identification and resembles Ray M Boale of Bath Maine, missing since November.

Unknown Young Woman Drowns Herself at Marine Park

A tall well dressed unknown young woman, about 28 to 33, drowned after selecting stones then drinking from a dark bottle at Pleasure Bay in Marine Park Boston. A boy Stiles saw her actions and the body was recovered about 12:45 pm. autopsy found no poison. Multiple spectators noted a refined appearance and belongings including two pocketbooks with money. The car of arrival and further identification remained unresolved.

Fire destroys Chilean minister’s DC residence

A fire at Senor Carlos Maria Vicuna’s house on Connecticut avenue near N street damaged the roof and top floor, with $10,000 loss. The Vicunas escaped in night robes, aided by 12-year-old Carlos. They sheltered at the British embassy with Lady Pauncefote’s family. governess Manfredi fell climbing stairs. Overheated flue started the blaze. Previously occupied by Brazilian minister Mendonca.

Christmas tragedy at 49 L Street in South Boston

Mrs Mary Stevens suffered fatal burns when her apron caught fire during Christmas dinner. John Stevens and Dr Gilman acted quickly but she was admitted to City Hospital at midnight in critical condition and likely to die before dawn.

Youth shot by former suitor in New York home tragedy

A11 year old Mamie Remly was shot in the heart and killed at her home on Eighth avenue by 19 year old Frank Nulty, a post office clerk. Nulty shot himself in the head and was taken to a hospital. he had been Mamie’s former suitor, with a recent quarrel cited as a trigger.

Charles McCann of New Bedford was run over on the B & A tracks half a mile below Bleachery Station while asleep. He was taken to Waltham Hospital where amputations were performed, but he cannot live. He was visiting his father on Newton Street.

Mrs. Reynolds of Freeport Street Dorchester was struck by a train at the Field's Corner crossing Old Colony road Saturday night and reported dying at Emergency Hospital last night. Surgeons said she probably would not live through the night.
