The two masted schooner Julia A Berkele bound from Elizabethport New Jersey to Boston with coal was towed into Hyannis by the revenue cutter Acushnet after being badly strained off Nauset in a northwest gale. The vessel leaked slightly, mainsail broken, gaff broken, and life saving crews assisted the pumps before bringing it to port.

Mrs Delia Mulroy 31 of 12 Newman Street South Boston fell into a sub cellar when the cellar floor broke while she split kindling. She lay trapped about ten minutes before help arrived. Firefighters freed her and she was taken to City Hospital in serious condition. Her husband Patrick Mulroy works as a teamster for the Metropolitan Coal Company.
