Cape Cod turkeys draw buyers at wharf market
The market received a large shipment of Cape Cod turkeys and other fish aboard several schooners including Flirt Hattie F Knowlton Yakami Rapidan Richard Wainwright Emily Cooney Illinois Mary Cabral and Manhassett totaling 118 800 pounds with haddock cod hake pollock and cask. Prices ranged from 2% to 4% cents per pound. The Flirt held 33 100 pounds for sale today while captains of Richard J Nunan and Sadie M Nunan headed home for Christmas. The Sarmatian carrying 2100 tons of cargo from Glasgow arrived amid heavy seas and seasick gales. Old vessels like the Eleazer Boynton are being sold to private buyers for gravel work. The Boxer towed to East Boston for wheel repairs and the Lizzie Griffin discharged salt herring at Pickett’s pier. A General Scott skipper faced a rough voyage, ice prevented further movement, and plans for winter remain. Local balls will feature Marine Engineer Beneficial Association event on Jan 30 1905 at Lyceum Hall East Boston. The Romanic and Canopic of the White Star line carried passengers to and from Naples via Charlestown and Genoa.

Irish League Opposes Arbitration Treaty
The Boston central branch of the United Irish League declares opposition to any arbitration treaty between the United States and England. Two grounds are given: it conflicts with Republican ideals and Ireland’s issue should be settled by England before any arbitration. The league cites Washingtons farewell warning and calls on President Roosevelt and the Senate to note the resolution.
