Baltimore & Ohio Stock Yet Undervalued Despite 6% Dividend

The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad stock trades around 118 while yielding 6 percent, higher than many peers, due to historical expansion costs and a 1900 Pennsylvania control. Despite 1909 earnings softness, per-mile gains and a conservative policy of dividends and reinvestment show improving earnings power and expected rebalancing of capitalization, with prospects of rising stock value as Chicago Terminal assets normalize.
