Boston police say they have unearthed clues pointing to a former Uxbridge youth with a criminal record as a suspect in the killing and robbery of George A. Willis, paymaster of the Boston News Bureau, in the bureau boiler room at 2 pm last Friday.
Uxbridge police Sergeant Campbell and City Hall avenue officers recover a fully loaded revolver. They say the bullets resemble those used in the paymaster murder, with News Bureau offering a $1000 reward.
Forecasts from Washington predict fair, colder conditions for New England on Monday and Tuesday with moderate to fresh westerly winds. Offshore areas from Sandy Hook to Hatteras expect fresh to strong northwest winds and partly overcast skies, with a general expectation of fair conditions today and tonight but cooler than yesterday.

Alexander J. MacDonald of Gloucester, 25, a former merchant marine officer, confessed last night to leading a gang in a Somerville robbery. He and confederates guarded 12 salesmen at the New England Bakery Company office while another two looted the cashier’s office of about $2000. a fourth gunman waited in an automobile. MacDonald was arrested in Gloucester after alighting from the 12:30 am train and checking into the Harvard House, naming two other bandits, with a New York gunman described as the fourth member.
Maine’s first real snow storm of the winter drops 8.5 inches around Portland with four inches on ground elsewhere. Temperatures run about 20 degrees above, water power concerns persist, and snow plows help Maine Central trains stay on time. Yobogganing and winter sports gain drive as December 1–17 runs five degrees below normal in the region.
